The first act of Jaitsiji after his accession to the Gaddi was, to expel Thakur Ude Karan Bidawat from Daronpur in relation for the treachery displayed to his father, which caused his death. He next subdued the Joias, who had refused to join his father in his expedition against Jaisalmer. Jaitsi wrested the Bhatner fort from Chahal Rajputs, on which Prince Kamran marched from Delhi and unsuccessfully attacked the Bikaner troops in Bhatner; but when Rao Maldeoji of Jodhpur with 20,000 troops subsequently attacked Bikaner, a battle ensued at Sahva, where Rao Jaitsi was killed on Chait, Bad 11th S. 1598 (A.D. 1541). | | |
