Maharaja Dr. Karni Singh was born on 21st April, 1942, was known for his statesmanship, knowledge and service to the people. He represented Bikaner Parliamentary Constituency in Lokhsabha for five consecuive terms lasting over a quarter of a century. As an outstanding player, he participated in many Olympic and Asian Games in clay pigeon shooting and brought name and fame to India by winning gold and silver medals. He was a great scholar. His thesis on the 'Relationship Of Bikaner Royal Family with the central Authority' is a master piece in itself. Dr. Karni Singh was dedicated to the cause of Rajasthani. He vehemently and incessantly pleaded for the inclusion of this language in the 14th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. | | |
