Latitude, Longitude, Altitude_ _ _ _ _??? |

After unable to resolve my thorough confusion between latitude, longitude, and altitude my teacher declared that chances of my attaining any altitudes in life are very grim. I admit that he has made plentitude of efforts in explaining the small magnitude of difference between longitude, latitude and altitude and my cross-questioning has gauged the limits of his fortitude. But then my attitude towards the problem was also justified - just put 'al' for 'la' & you are top-down rather than north-south. Longitude are long running N-S, latitude are also long ( __??) running E-W. Longitude are long but not longer than longest latitude, though their name is longitude. Altitude is neither long nor it runs anywhere (but still belongs to this __tude family???). A change in longitude & latitude most likely changes altitude, but altitude alone can be changed independently of longitude & latitude. By the end of lecture- nothing but a multitude of unanswered questions and a plentitude of confusion. My reaction to the situation was quiet natural and obvious as I was sure that the problem is not with my aptitude but with his attitude. Anyway my gratitude is due to all, who appreciate my quest to find out latitude, longitude, & altitude and support me in this time of solitude. |
