It's not so easy to be easy going

It's not so easy to be easy going
However hard you try ; of late, being easy and relaxed has become difficult.
Giving due honour to ‘Survival of Fittest’ and ‘Theory of Adaptation’ youth today is getting used to tough schedules, tight tie-knots and formal greeting smiles. It seems as if natural nectar of life has been drained out and aroma lost.
Busy schedules and chaotic life-styles have made our lives pathetic. An endless list of
jobs and assignments both domestic and official is always waiting for your attention.

Here comes a bunch of a few ideas to your rescue ; I call it "Theory of Least Labour", you may call it as you wish.

  • Be careful in looking careless
It costs nothing but pays a lot. If you are considered to be a careful and responsible fellow among your peers, definitely your share of workload will be relatively more. So be careless, at least look careless; spoil some important tasks completely. A good impression can be killing.

  • Avoid and avoid until it is no more required.
Some jobs are of nature that if you can avert them for some time you can get the benefit of not doing them at all.
Try it to believe it. Otherwise I have examples; sending a greeting card/call and other courtesy jobs fall in this category.

  • Don't work hard & avoid hardwork.
It's the men that end, not work - mind it. The more you work, the more you are given to do. However hard you work the work will never end, though you may.
Try to pick up the easier parts of job if given a choice.

  • Life of risks is not always a risk of life.
Lot of jobs that we take up daily are merely precautionary or safety measures. Just avoid them. Starting taking risks, believe me, is worth understanding the subtle difference between 'Karm' ( the net actual output) and the 'Kriya' ( the total activity done) as described in Gita. A precautionary measure, if remains unused, falls in second category and is of no use.

  • Mind the Quality- "just OK is enough"
The world today is quality conscious. Inspite of all your efforts if still you are assigned a job, be careful about it's quality, it should neither be good enough to be easily accepted nor be bad enough to be easily rejected.

  • There is difference in being and pretending to be__
Lastly keep it in mind : the more important is ‘pretending to be’ than ‘to be’.
Whether or not you have something to do, you should look extremely busy and engaged. People around you shouldn’t dare to assign you a new job.

Hope the theory will help the time , energy & career conscious youth of today, live a relaxed , cheerful and natural life.
