Introduction :
| 1. | "Gallantry Awards" is an award which has been instituted by The President of India (The Govt. of India) since the timing Independence. These have been recognized as awards granted to personnel for acts if gallantry, acts of exceptional devotion to duty & courage performed both during peace and war. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. | The gallantry awards as instituted by the Govt. of India Notification No. 27 - Press stub listed in the Govt. of India Gazette dated 22 March 1952 and further as amended from time to time are as under:- | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 3. | Certain medals (PVSM, AVSM, VSM Series) were also instituted by the highest order as rendered to the Nature in both peace and war. These medals are as under: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 4. | The gallantry awards as mentioned in Para 2 above have been recognized instituted by the Govt. of Rajasthan as per Rajasthan Gallantry Awards (cash awards and land grants) rule 1966 as amended by the Govt. of Rajasthan revenue (GR VII\Department) vide their letter no. F-18 (1) Rev GR VII\SW\85 dated 25th May 1986. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 5. | In order to recognize services rendered to the Nation by the Armed Forces Personnel & civilians in both peace and war. The president of India awards every year gallantry awards as well as PVSM Series to the officers of the Armed Forces for the services of the most exceptional order and also to defence personnel & civilians for their distinguished services on the every 26th January (The Republic Day) as well as 15th August. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6. | Some of Defence personnel of Bikaner Distt. are fortunate enough to receiver these coveted awards are given at appox. all. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 7. | Gallantry award is designed to perpetuate in memory, the deed of courage & valour of those, who have been awarded the gallantry awards of the land (including those who have permanently settled down in the Bikaner Distt.). People of Bikaner are proud of them. |
